What educators are saying

My students were so engaged with this unit. They knew very little about Dickens or Victorian England. This was a great unit! I will use it for years to come. I even went back and bought the escape room and love it as well

Rated 5 out of 5

I love using this unit around Christmas time! I find that using the play rather than thr story tends to up student engagement. I'll definitely be using this unit again in the future!

Description

Your Middle School students will love these fun and engaging activities for the play version of A Christmas Carol by Frederick Gaines. This interactive resource will help your students examine plot structure, character traits, and theme with discussion questions, scaffolded notes, and more!

This "A Christmas Carol" resource is based on the play that is found in 7th grade McDougal-Littell Language of Literature books by Frederick Gaines. It can also be found online separate from the textbook. A link is included inside this resource!

In my class, we read the play scene by scene. We analyzed each scene with a discussion, plot diagram, some notes, and then a compare/contrast graphic organizer as we compared and contrasted the play scene by scene with a famous puppet video version! (It also pairs quite well with the video version featuring George C. Scott!)
